Summary
The  accomplishments and benefits that resulted from the productive collaboration between Cambodia and IRRI were discussed.
Quote from Minister of Agriculture, H.E. Veng Sakhon
- The tremendous accomplishments are a result of the strong partnership between the Royal Government of Cambodia and IRRI.
- With IRRI's support, Cambodia has a big potential to provide technical human resources: scientists, researchers, students, and farmers. Through strong collaborative work, significant accomplishments were made in the rice sector, such as rice technology, support to the rice research station, and increase in rice yield which lead to surplus rice for export.

Quote from Dr. Abdelbagi Ismail, IRRI coordinator of the ASTV project
- IRRI is implementing the ASTV project, with financial support from USAID. The project is implemented in Cambodia and Nepal with a total budget of USD 6 million.
- Because IRRI has the technical expertise in rice science and is wholly committed to the success of the project, continued budget support is expected from more donors, based on the real need of Cambodia.
- Through the ASTV project, the Royal Government of Cambodia has been working with IRRI in conducting research and introducing stress-tolerant rice varieties, good management practices, and proper postharvest management. Through this project, many Cambodian rice researchers were trained on the new technology/approaches by IRRI. View video
